Fallout Shelter is a free-to-play game for iOS and Android from the highly regarded game studio Bethesda. The game lets players create an underground community to escape the nuclear contamination above.
How to get started
Right at the beginning of the game, you are given a vault and a vault number. People in this game are called Dwellers and your goal is to lead them to happiness. To achieve that, they will need to be given jobs that match their skills. There are outfits, weapons and training that improve the abilities of your Dwellers.
Explore and Protect
Dwellers can be sent outside into the wasteland to find loot, but be carefull, it is dangerous out there and they can die. What you will need to find are armor and weapons. Going outside will gain them experience and you will earn Caps. Protecting your Vault is very important and is another fun aspect of the game. The threats may come from the outside, but also from within, so be prepared.
In-app purchases
There is a certain fear regarding free-to-play games and it’s based on the game becoming pay-to-win like many others. Fortunately, this is not the case with Fallout Shelter. You can play the game without ever having to spend any real money.

Early detection
When wandering around in the world or towns, use the following trick to get an early heads up on enemies, encounters, or learn who is nearby. Keep tapping [V.A.T.S.] while searching at all angles. If there is something out there, you will get the V.A.T.S. zoom in with a low score. You will at least know what is there and can figure out a plan of attack or how best to sneak around it.
V.A.T.S. Spotting:
If you&8217;re heading into seemingly-hostile territory or simply want to survey the area around you for enemies you might not yet see, try hitting the VATS button over and over again as you make your character turn around, searching all angles. Doing so will alert you to any enemies you may not yet see by zooming in on them in VATS mode. You&8217;ll realistically be unable to do damage to your foes from such a distance, but it&8217;s a good way to spot foes before they spot you so you know what you&8217;re getting yourself into before the crap hits the fan.
