Ristar the Shooting Star v1.1 Conversion by Revo 2016-12-10. Left section clear dynamic. Ristar the Shooting Star v1 GG2SMS by nextvolume 2014-05-31. This is the main arrival of this fix enables you to play Ristar, an amusement discharged in 1995 by SEGA for the Game Gear, on your Master System. The diversion functions admirably, and is playable. Ristar is a beautiful platformer that will appeal to any fan of classic video games. The reason this game is so rare is that it was released in the USA in 1995 for the Sega Genesis when the Sega Saturn was already out. Most people were making the shift from 2d to 3d games in this period and Ristar was sadly overlooked and faded into obscurity.

Ristar Online
Ristar for the Game Gear is, of course, a bite-sized version of the slightly better-known Genesis game. It's slower-paced than the original game and has a greater focus on platforming, but the premise is identical: use your rubbery arms and lethal headbanging skills to take down a space dictator and save the galaxy.

Debug Mode
Enter password KUMI and 'DEBUG MODE ON!' will appear on the screen. During the game, pause, then un-pause while holding Up + 2 for the Level Select menu, 2 alone to skip the current level, or 1 + 2 to hard reset the game.
Regional Differences
Much like its Genesis counterpart, the planet names are all different between the Japanese and international versions:

In addition, the first level of Planet Terra/Fanturn is missing in the international versions, even though the level is in the actual coding. (This has the effect of making its background music, Ring Rink, unused in international versions of the game outside of the Sound Test). Why this was done is anyone's guess, as the stage in question has no objectionable content worth removing. Unless clouds, rainbows, and beanstalks offend your sensibilities--we're not here to judge. It can be added back into the game using the Game Genie code C21-CEF-C41.
